Smile!

Finally! Smiles from Andrew caught on camera! He smiled for the first time when he was 8 weeks old. Now he's 14 weeks old and we finally have proof that he can do it! It doesn't exactly happen often, but it is happening more and more lately.

Andrew is 3 months old!

Andrew turned 3 months old while my camera was away (see previous post), so these pictures are actually a week late. I took these this morning.

He is smiling more often now, although I have yet to catch it on camera. He also laughed out loud last night! It was a very funny moment. Brian was telling a funny story at the dinner table last night and we laughed about it, got quiet, and Andrew let out a little giggle. Then, of course, we laughed again!

This is Genna at 3 months old in the same bouncer.
What do you think? Do they look alike? I can't decide. One day I think they do, and the next I don't.

Here are a few more pics from this morning. He is sitting in his bumbo seat a little every day, even though his head is still a little bobbly (is that a word???). We are working on strengthening those muscles!

Late 4th of July post

I took these pictures on the night of the 4th of July while we were grilling out with my parents. Then, we went to Huntsville to celebrate my sister, Andrea's birthday and I left my diaper bag, which had my camera in it. So, I just got my camera back yesterday and realized these pictures were on it. Anyway, just wanted to share the rest of our holiday.

Andrew LOVES being outside.

Genna and Memama had some fun with the water table,

while Andrew enjoyed some time with Grandaddy.

Happy 4th of July!

We have already had a fun-filled holiday weekend! Last night, Genna and I first went to a patriotic concert which was held outside of the church. We ate snowcones, listened to great music and Genna ran around waving a flag.

Someone gave her a glow bracelet that she LOVES!

At the end, they released a bunch of red, white and blue balloons. It really was a pretty sight, but Genna could not understand why we were not trying to keep them from flying away.

Later, we went to see some fireworks in our neighborhood. We don't have great pictures, because Brian and I each had to hold a child. Genna hates fireworks. So far, for 3 years, we've seen fireworks and every year she really dislikes them. They make loud noises that scare her, but last night, she did admit that they were pretty (but loud!).

Then, this morning, our neighborhood had a parade. It started with the firetruck which had its siren on. Did I mention that Genna does not like loud noises?

Once the firetruck passed, though, she enjoyed picking up beads and candy.

Andrew was showing his patriotism by waving a flag as the cars drove by.

Family picture that I'm actually pleased with...

Swaddle Blanket

Andrew likes to be swaddled when he is in his bed. Genna also did and we wrapped her up tight until she was probably 6 months old. Brian and I have really mastered swaddling with a regular receiving blanket, but the problem is that they are getting too small. Last week, I decided to try to use the swaddling blanket with the velcro that is supposed to hold them in better thinking this would keep him from getting his arms and legs free (this typically wakes him up, then we re-wrap him, and on and on).
Anyway, I went to check on him later and here is what I found:

I guess we just need to find bigger blankets.

Visit to Memama and Grandaddy's house

We went to visit Memama and Grandaddy (Eve's parents) during the week before Father's Day. We had a great time doing lots of fun things!

Here we are eating watermelon outside.

CHEESE!

Genna LOVES watermelon!

Andrew spent some quality time with Grandaddy...

and Memama...

Genna also helped in the garden. Here she is picking cherry tomatoes.

Memama had to stop her from eating them before they were washed!

There is nothing like tomatoes for breakfast, right?

Look, squash!

Is the corn taller than me?

Happy Father's Day, Grandaddy! We love you!

We took a break from the heat and played a little pool.

And, of course, we can't visit without going to the pool!
Andrew's first time in the water.

I'm not really sure if he liked it or not...

Genna had a few more swimming lessons at Aunt Louise's pool. She was even brave enough to jump off the diving board!
