Walking

So, as you can see, Andrew is walking and he is very proud of himself. He started taking some steps about 2 weeks before his birthday, but he is really walking good now. He LOVES balls or balloons or just about anything else round that he can throw.

Happy Birthday Andrew!!!

I can't believe my baby boy is already 1!!!! He actually has been for over a week now, but I'm just now getting around to posting about it. We are having another little "party" this weekend with more of the family, but on the day after his birthday Memama and Grandaddy were coming through, so we stopped at a local park and had a picnic.

He really enjoyed his petit four.

After trying a bite and realizing this was something he definitely wanted, he just shoved the whole thing in his mouth!

Opening a present from Memama and Grandaddy...what could it be???

He got uninterested, so big sister had to jump in and help.

He really liked it, though! We went for a walk and he wouldn't let go of it.

Genna and Grandaddy are trying to figure out if they could walk on that log across the stream.

Instead they found another place to play in the water.

Andrew and Memama watched from the bridge.

All in all, it was a fun outing.

I took these pictures on Easter Sunday afternoon at my parents' house.

Andrew's first lawnmower ride...

Here they are feeding the fish while Grandaddy keeps Andrew from jumping in the pond. Genna loves to feed the fish! She feeds them until they don't eat any more.

Thought this was a cool sunset picture...

pretty pond pictures...

No trip is complete without a ride on the tractor!

I couldn't believe it...

Genna likes the Easter bunny. I can't really figure it out. She never likes dressed up characters. But, she likes this one and the one at the Easter egg hunt the weekend before.

Easter fun!

One night, after Andrew was in bed and Brian was not home, yet, Genna and I dyed Easter eggs. I'm pretty sure this is our first time to do it....I know, I'm a terrible mother. But in my defense, last year, Andrew was born the day after Easter, so you can guess how I was feeling.

She had a great time!

This is the day of Genna's Easter party at school. Andrew and I got there a little early, so I tried to take some cute pictures of him. It didn't quite work out since the sun was so bright. And I also discovered that he doesn't like grass too much. Check out how he's holding his foot up so that it doesn't touch the ground.

He did get used to it, though...

I had to throw this one in here because it's just too cute and it shows all of his teeth!

Genna's actual birthday

My 4 year old!

The birthday girl at her party at school.

We went to Dale's for dinner and met our great friends, the Colliers.

They gave Genna a cool microphone and she loves it!

This was her birthday present from us. Grandaddy built her this bookcase/dollhouse a couple of years ago and we converted it to a Barbie doll house this year. We had some help....Andrea gave her the kitchen and Genna's friend Olivia gave her the refrigerator.

Easter egg hunt number 1

Happy Easter!
Last weekend, we went to my parents' house for the annual Easter egg hunt. This is the same one that I used to go to every Easter when I was a little girl!
We started off trying to get a good picture of my parents and my children, but well, you see how that turned out. The sun was in their eyes, and poor Andrew just looks pitiful with his watering eyes and runny nose. In fact, he looks like this in all of the pictures.

Let me just say that typically Genna REALLY does NOT like anything dressed up (Santa Clause, Curious George or Dora that came to the children's museum in our area recently, school mascots, etc). Well, she LOVED this easter bunny. I mean, really loved this Easter bunny. So much that she followed her around, showed her the eggs that she found, and had multiple pictures taken with her. I don't know if it was because she wasn't quite as big as they normally are or if it was because she talked to Genna and was really friendly, but she really liked her. Here is the first of many pictures with the Easter bunny. At this point, she was still a little skeptical.

Getting ready to find eggs!

Again, not good of any of the kids, but this is my mama, with her sister and 3 of their grandchildren.

showing the Easter bunny the eggs that she found.

Andrew found one egg, too!

It was a fun afternoon and I hope we will be able to go next year, too. The weather was great, too. Last time we went, Genna was about a year old, and she had to wear jeans, a long sleeve shirt and a hooded pink sweater. I would post a picture, but i don't have them on this computer. I guess you just never know what it will be like this time of year.
