Saturday morning playing

Lately, Andrew is very interested in whatever his sister is doing. This morning, Genna was playing in the sunroom, so I just put Andrew in the bumbo seat to watch her play. He's also interested in his feet (notice that there's one sock on and one sock off). She gave up playing tea party and cooking to "show" him how to play with the dinosaur toy. It lights up and plays music, and he really seemed to like it. It was fun to see them almost playing together!

Smiling for the camera (just ignore the mis-matched pajamas and messy hair...it's Saturday. We only get dressed if/when we have to!)

A few changes...

Well, Andrew has learned to roll over, so that means no more swaddling. This is very sad for us because he has always quickly settled down as soon as we wrap him up tight and sleeps through the night very good. We have switched to the sleep sack now and he's getting better with it every night. I went in to check on him last night and this is what I found. I guess he's glad to have his arms free so he can stretch out!

In other news, this is our new stroller! I bought it at the church consignment sale last week and we love it! It is a little heavier and sturdier than the other umbrella stroller and it reclines a little. It's also much smaller than the one that holds the car seat, so it doesn't take up the entire back of the car!

We finally had a day last week with no rain, so I took Genna and Andrew to the park to walk and get out of the house!

Genna has never really liked riding her tricycle. We brought it on this outing because I thought she might enjoy having a level, paved place to ride it. She did enjoy it...for about 5 minutes. Then she said it was too hard and she just wanted to walk beside me. Oh, well, I guess we tried!

Jumpin'

This boy LOVES to jump!

But as soon as he sees a camera, he goes back to being serious...

He really loves it, though...

Sometimes his sister "helps" him.

after all, she is an expert. She loved it, too!

Last of the beach pictures

Genna was fascinated by these shells (I don't know what they are called) that wash up with the waves and sink back down into the sand. This really surprised me because, as I said in the previous post, she is afraid of EVERYTHING!!! She and Brian were collecting them so they could watch them up close in the buckets.

We LOVED this shallow pool...

Andrew, again...not impressed, but content with Grandaddy.

Andrew at the beach

This picture pretty much sums up how Andrew felt about the beach.

but he did put his toes in the water, too...

and walked down the beach a little bit with his Memama...

sat with his Mama for about 2 seconds before he started fussing...

then walked some more with his Grandaddy.

Thank you SO MUCH Memama and Grandaddy for going with us!!! We wouldn't have had nearly as much fun without you!

Genna at the beach

This is what Genna did the entire time we were on the beach. Needless to say, after hundreds of trips to the water and back, she would be exhausted and covered in sand when we left.

For those of you worried that she was in the ocean by herself, Brian is standing right outside of this picture. We were amazed that she liked to be knocked down by the waves. She is normally afraid of EVERYTHING!

More to come...

A few beach pics...

These were taken on our first morning at the beach. Genna wanted to go as soon as she woke up. It was pretty cloudy and raining a little, but we went anyway! We just stayed long enough for her to see the beach and put her feet in the water.

Genna was SO excited!!!

Andrew...not so much. It was windy and cool, so he was just not impressed at all.

Toes in the water...

I'm not really sure what she's doing here...if I had to guess I would say it had something to do with a superhero. She's very into them lately.

First day of 3K

Today was Genna's first day of 3K! This is her first "school" experience, so I was not really sure how it would go. She went in smiling and happy this morning and says that she had fun and wants to go back, so I'm so glad!!!
Today they got to take their favorite stuffed animal, which is her "Doggy" who she sleeps with every night (this is one among many others, but the one that has been consistent for the longest). Her bag (provided by the school) is almost as big as she is! She feels very important carrying it, though.

This picture was just funny to me. She was very excited and had to let out a little squeal!
