6 months old!

I'm a couple of weeks late on this...he turned 6 months on October 13th. We took our quarterly trip to Portrait Innovations to have pictures made and I was very pleased this time.

Most of you do know this, but I do monogramming and more recently, appliques in my "free time." Anyway, if you are interested, check out my monogramming blog . I take pictures of everything I make and post it on this blog. I've been doing a lot of fall shirts for kids lately, so that's what my most recent posts are, but I also do baby gifts, towels, aprons, and anything else that you might like monogrammed.

Here is an example of a recent baby gift which included bib, burp cloth and paci clip.

School Halloween party

On Thursday, Genna's school had a parade through the parking lot before they went trick-or-treating at the church office. All of the kids were so cute and so excited to see their parents watching and waving! This picture is terribly blurry, but I liked it because is shows how my pretty princess is holding her dress up so she won't step on the hem.

Later that day, she had a party at school, too! Here she is first sitting down to her fun lunch full of cute, special food! They had jack-o-lantern grilled cheese sandwiches, a ghost-shaped sandwich, witch's hat cookies, ghost cookies, orange cupcakes, fruit and chips. Of course, she took one bite of each sandwich, then ate her chips, fruit and cookies.

They also sang a few songs for us. I don't remember what this one was, but it was a funny picture.

From Genna and Andrew!

Okay, so I got the baby to laugh, but I did not do a great job on the photography. I thought the picture was cute, though.

Yes, Genna's bow is made of gold Christmas wrapping ribbon. She got to wear her Halloween costume to school today, so her hair was fixed for that. Her gold bow is supposed to be sort of like Sleeping Beauty's crown (and it matches the dress).

Trunk-or-Treat

This afternoon, we went to Trunk-or-Treat at our church. Genna had a GREAT time walking around, getting candy, eating candy, playing games and playing with friends. She was very bothered that she and "baby brother" had on costumes, but Mama and Daddy didn't.

Since I use this blog also as documenting purposes, I have to tell the story behind picking this costume. I asked Genna after school one day what she wanted to dress up as for Halloween. She quickly replied "Tinkerbell!...no, Belle!....no, a BIRD!" What???? I immediately start trying to figure out 1) how I'm going to get/make a bird costume, then, more importantly 2) how am I going to talk her out of this? I figured she would change her mind again, but she stuck to that for a few days....until I decided to take her to the Disney store. Then, after changing her mind about 5 times, she finally settled on Aurora/Sleeping Beauty. Needless to say, I was thrilled that I no longer had to worry about making a bird costume.

Andrew dressed as a dinosaur and he was not too happy about it in case you can't tell. He has 2 costumes this year, but for today I tried to pick the more comfortable and cooler one of the 2. On Halloween, he is going to be a super-cute little lion....stay tuned to see pics in another week!

2 pretty princesses.

Genna and Jason (Reese's daddy). Our Sunday School class's trunk was decorated in a 70's disco theme complete with disco ball and dance floor. Jason really dressed the part and the kids enjoyed dancing. Our class won the award for best decorated trunk! Thanks, Jason for all of your hard work!

Sleeping Beauty with Mario and Luigi!

Genna seriously wanted to get her face painted tonight, but the line was SO LONG and Andrew was getting fussy and we were all ready to go home, so I promised her that when we got home I would paint her face. This was probably better because she got to pick whatever she wanted me to paint...A ghost with black eyes, a "jack-o-lantern pumpkin" and "swirls on her eyes" (the person painting faces at church was painting designs around the kids' eyes and forehead and she really liked it...I could not do anything like that, but she was happy enough with it).

Pumpkin Patch

Today we went to the pumpkin patch!!!

We went with our friends Miss Jennifer and Olivia.

This was the best picture we got of all 3 kids. In their defense, the sun really was in their eyes.

They had lots of fun jumping on the inflatables...

not so much in the petting zoo....it is no secret that Genna does NOT like animals.
She is trying to get as far away from that sheep as she can while staying in the stroller.

She did warm up to the guinea pigs and the chickens (they were not sticking their heads through the fence like the goats were)

This is how Andrew enjoyed the petting zoo after he got tired of the stroller. He was perfectly content for the rest of the day.

All of the excitement was just too much for Andrew.
