Decorating

Genna had a great time putting up Christmas decorations today. She especially liked the nativity set...I left the room for a minute and when I came back she had all of the pieces in a circle around Baby Jesus. "They all just wanted to look at Him", she said. In reality, it probably was more like that than the way we traditionally see it set up. Funny that she would figure that out.

A few minutes later we heard her telling them, "Okay, we have to move away now...that's enough."

Christmas pictures.....

Have I mentioned before on this blog how hard it is to get a good picture of my 2 children together right now? Maybe you'll remember the pumpkin patch in October. Today was no different. We did manage to get 1 good one, but I'm saving that one for a Christmas post later.

Genna age 4 1/2

I remember when it was so very hard to get good pictures of Genna. She went through a phase of being "scared" of the bright lights of a studio and trying to pretend she was shy to the photographers. Now, she LOVES to have her picture taken! I didn't really want to have many taken of her this time, because I knew I would want them and my goal was to get Andrew at 18 months and Christmas pictures.
Here are my favorites of her.

Andrew 18 months

Okay, so he's actually 19 months, but this was the portrait session that was supposed to happen at 18 months, so we're just going to pretend that it is a month ago.
To say that getting a good picture of Andrew at this age is difficult is the understatement of the century, but we did manage to get a few cute ones. These are my 3 favorites of him.

Halloween 2010

Happy Halloween!
This afternoon, we took Tinkerbell and Peter Pan to Trunk-or-Treat at our church.

We played some games,

Genna got her face painted (I still can't believe she sat still this long!),

got a pink dog balloon,

got lots of candy and prizes, and had fun!

Later, we did a little trick-or-treating with some friends.
We had a great time even though it was a pretty long day. Hopefully, everyone will sleep good tonight!

Halloween parade and party

Anxiously awaiting the Preschool Parade!

Here comes "Ne-Nee"! She's so sensitive to the sun, so she's covering her eyes.

She asked me later why we didn't come to the parade...I told her we were waving and yelling her name, but I guess she was just distracted by all of the other people. Andrew was very bothered that she didn't come and see him.

Later, at the class party...

Patiently waiting for the candy swap...

Giggling girls...

Genna passing out her candy to her classmates...

They played a game called Bobbing for Doughnuts. They had to eat the powdered doughnuts without using their hands.

Genna's messy face after the doughnut game...

Carving pumpkins

I haven't figured out how to take good pictures in the kitchen with this light fixture...
Anyway, Thursday night, we carved pumpkins! Genna was very excited! So was Andrew (notice him trying to climb up into the chair behind Genna)!

This is about when she said, "No, Daddy, I don't want to get my hands dirty..."

So, we decided to take some silly pictures while he cleaned out the inside of the pumpkin.

The finished projects!
