Are you strong???

Show me your muscles!
(while eating a pb&j sandwich)

Andrew thought this was hilarious!

This has nothing to do with this blog post, but I thought it was a really good picture to share...

Fun September weekend

Well, this post is a little late, but a few weeks ago, we had a house full of visitors to celebrate my birthday! We started off Saturday with some play-doh outside on the deck. Even Memama joined in the fun!

It was going so well until this little guy showed up...

The girls got so frustrated with him! He wanted to destroy everything that they were making.

We had lunch at our favorite picnic spot and spent some time walking and playing at the park.

We have several pictures with this rabbit. I remember when Genna's shoulders would barely touch his hands. I wanted to get a picture of her standing, but they ran off before I could.

Beach trip!

We picked Genna and Andrew up from school on Wednesday and headed down to the beach. Genna was SO EXCITED!!! All the way, she kept asking if she could just put on her swimsuit so that we could go straight to the beach when we got there. We basically did just that.
Here she is pulling her wagon full of sand toys.

We didn't put Andrew's swimsuit on him because we knew we weren't going to stay long. It was already getting late and we had not eaten dinner. He was not so sure about the sand, but he did like the birds.

Genna LOVES the ocean!

Andrew...not so much.

playing in the water with Grandaddy...

The next day, we all went to the beach for a while. Andrew was very unhappy. I think he had sunscreen in his eyes and wasn't loving the sun, sand, water...really anything about it.

But he did sit with Memama and eat snacks. The sunglasses didn't last long.

He did really like the pool. It was a great pool for kids. Most of it was shallow enough for Genna to touch and it had these fountains that Andrew loved.

back to the beach...

Friday night, we tried to take some pictures on the beach. This one pretty much sums up how it went. Genna's eyes were burning from being outside and in the pool all day and with no nap, so she wouldn't open them. Andrew just wanted to be held instead of having to touch the sand.

PLEASE come get me!

This was the best family picture we got.

The beach was beautiful. The only oil/tar we saw was on a few shells. The water was clear and the sand was as white as it always has been.

Saturday afternoon, Memama and Grandaddy left with Andrew and we stayed another night with Genna. We spent the afternoon at the beach gathering shells and building castles.

Another attempt at dressed-up pictures. She's still squinting.

I told her if she would just let me take a couple of GOOD pictures of her we could leave, so then she started posing.

The only evidence that I was there. I am usually the one with the camera.

We had a fun night. She took a nap earlier, so we were able to stay out a little later than we normally would. We went out to eat, played putt-putt golf and went to Souvenir City! She had a great time playing golf and even got a hole-in-one!

It was a great trip. Thanks to Memama and Grandaddy for going with us and helping so much with Andrew!

Andrew's first day of MDO

My big boy is going to Mother's Day Out on Wednesdays this year. Hopefully this is going to give me a few hours totally dedicated to monogramming or anything else that I need to do without the kids around.
He had a great first day! We're trying to break him of using his paci, and he spent the whole time there without it! He still wants it for naptime and bedtime, but maybe we can get him to stop using it during the day.

First day of 4K!!!

Well, it's official...my little girl is growing up! She started 4K this morning at the same school she went to last year. She was SO excited! 6 of the kids in her class were in her 3K class last year, so she did know a few friends.
This morning it was raining, so we had to take the mandatory "first day of school" picture from the inside of the front door.
At the end of the day, her teacher told me "this little girl loves life!" I'm choosing to interpret that as she's happy and active (not she's wild and hyper).

For a little flashback...this is Genna last year on the first day of school. Notice that the bag (which is the same bag) is almost touching the ground in this picture! Now scroll back up and see where it is now! She has grown SO much in the last year (not to mention how much longer her hair is!).

On another note, as I was showing Genna the pictures on my camera, I looked up and this little guy was standing by the door just like his big sister saying "EESE" ("cheese"). So, I took his picture, too, of course. His time is coming next week!

Now, he's coming to check out his picture!
